Now I have to repack

Finally got round to packing and discovered that I can't get everything I want to take in the bag that I have, so going to plan B - use someone else's bag or possible plan C, buy a new bigger bag. I'm hoping that plan B will work as I really don't want to be driving around over the weekend trying to find another bag. On a positive note, I do have an interview tomorrow - I have little chance on getting it, but nothing ventured nothing gained !

Still got to pack

Only a week now to the start if my trip and I still have things to get - mainly presents and I have not heard from my cousin who wanted me to take something or my friend in London who I am suppose to be staying with. I have been offered somewhere to stay in London with another friend, which is great as I didn't think that I would ve able to spend that much time with him. Now if I only knew what was happening at work, I would be so much happy (assuming that I have a job to come back to!!)

Potential Grumpy Old Man

Today I felt like a grumpy old man - I hate cyclists on pavements and councils that hire out public space to business and forget about the users of the space. I know that I should relax and it will be alright, but I can't.

Preparing for my next trip

I have already started getting my clothes ready for my trip to the UK in March. Looking at the weather that they are having at the moment, I think I might need to take my thick winter coat (the one that I have never worn down here!) I do hope that the weather improves by the time I arrive there - I know the effect snow has on the country and I certainly will not be wanting to drive around in a hire car if it's snowy and icey. Fingers crossed that February turns out to be the cold month and March follows January's lead as being unusually mild!

Grabbing the tiger by the tail

Tiger Airways - Tiger Airways in Australia welcomes you! Personally, can't wait for a real budget airline to start flying in Australia. technorati tags: Travel , Airline , Tiger

Moto F3

Image
MOTOFONE - Cell Phones - Motorola US I was a bit disappointed when I first started using my new F3 - no predictive text, no upper or lower cases and not even a way to divert calls, but now I am becoming to admire it's simplicity. It does handle calls very well but that is essentially all it can do, just make and receive calls. It can send and receive SMS, but they can be difficult to read with the limited number of characters on the display. On the plus side, the battery life appears to be acceptable and the display is very clear. It only cost AU$70 and feels the right weight . My mates were impressed with it, but none of them could work out how to turn off the keyboard lock - maybe something the Motorola might need to think about. One interesting fact for other Australian phone geeks - I can use a Virgin sim in this Optus prepaid, but the Optus sim won't work in the Virgin phone - interesting !! technorati tags: Mobile , Phone , Motorola

Derby Uni - Happy Memories

Image
Contacted the alumni association and gave them my contact details. I graduated from Derby with a  post graduate diploma. These was the best time that I had (although there were some low ones as well). Virtually everyone on the course with me stayed in residence - Lonsdale Hall, that had only just been opened. I had a double room to myself and a view of the courtyard, so I could see the comings and goings of people. technorati tags: Derby , University

Alexis Brothers - Cirque du Soleil

Image
These two men perform one of the most amazing and graceful displays of strength and balance that I have ever seen. They are have been appearing in Cirque du Soleil shows since 1992 and are currently in Cirque du Soleil's Mystere in Las Vegas. There is more about them (including video and pictures) on their web site Alexis Brothers-About Us technorati tags: Circus , Cirque , du , Soliel
