Next potential car - Polo

Looking for my new car

After much consideration the next car is likely to be a Ford Fiesta. Had one for over a week while in the UK and enjoyed driving it around. They are more powerful and bigger, yet more fuel efficient than my old Swift.

UK Trip - 2010

Friday 10th September Spent the whole traveling back to Melbourne, effectively lost this day as moved through the time zones. Dubai airport was even busier on the return trip, but found some peace at the haagen-das ice cream stall.

UK Trip - 2010

Tuesday 7th September Had lunch with my parents and sisters at a local pub. Felt really tied afterwards. Contacted Steve to see how his operation went and it was successful, we won't be catching up again before I fly off to Australia.

UK Trip - 2010

Monday 6th September Went into the city centre to shop and was successful to some degree. Purchased more M&S underwear and a couple if cheap CDs. The weather has changed and I can hear the rain lashing the window of my bedroom.

UK Trip - 2010

Sunday 5th September 2010 Another quiet day in Nottingham, took my father shopping at the local retail park, but he was anxious to get back. Afterwards I went to another retail park on the other side of the city to do some window shopping before they closed.

UK Trip - 2010

Met one of my nieces and her partner. Did very little, although did a little online research for my parents on front load washing machines & watched a moving documentary on the sept 11 attacks on New York.

UK Trip – 2010

Friday 3rd September 2010 Simple day, just a short trip to the local garden centre with my parents. Spent the rest of the day at home, repacked and organised my holiday photos.

UK Trip - 2010

Thursday 2nd September Went into the city centre to spend the afternoon with my two elder sisters. Had a very nice time and meeting up again next week before I leave. Spent the evening with an old friend. We had dinner and then went back to his place for tea and a chat (until midnight).

UK Trip – 2010

Wednesday 1st September 2010 Good night sleep, woke up later than I have been doing down in London, I guess it’s the familiar surroundings and bed. Went down to the local supermarket to see what they had in gluten free items and the range was quite impressive. Bought a few things to try while I am up here. Talked to one of my sisters and we are all going to catch up tomorrow in the city centre. Took my parents shopping at the local retail park, Dad bought some shirts and Mum some crockery. Then we all went to the large supermarket on the retail park and they purchased their food for the week. Had dinner with my parents and been trying to work out why my Australian 3 phone won’t let me connect to the internet. Thankfully my UK T-mobile still does and that one is the cheaper of the two options. Busy day tomorrow, meeting my sisters during the day and catching up with a mate in the evening.

How quickly flights change price

I checked the price of flights between Sydney and Brisbane for a friend in the UK last week and over the last few days these flights have almost doubled in price. Pays to get on quick when you see a bargain.

UK Trip – 2010

Tuesday 31st August 2010 Had a quiet morning in the apartment, packing and clearing up. Then I took the DLR to London City Airport, to pick up my hire car. I choose to drive a Fiesta and after about 3 hours, I arrived home. Not a lot has changed here, there is a new bathroom (now without a bath) and new carpets too. Parked the car on the drive and will use it during the time I am here.

UK Trip - 2010

Monday 30th August 2010 Met up with Graham and Shaun and after lunch we went over to the GMFA Sports Day outside the Vauxhall Tavern. It was a fun day, lots of the competitors had dressed up for the day and there was a good size crowd. Later on my friend Michael came along and he spent the afternoon with Graham and I. We all went back into Soho for a drink and later Graham and I had dinner for before saying good bye.
