One day at a time

All set for driving to family event, but after driving for over half a hour in the rain, I had to question the wisdom of driving for another 2 hours, in that weather, at dusk and alone. I gave up but was disappointed that I would miss out on catching up with the family.

It's not there all the time but comes over in devastating waves.

Life bites back in the most unfortunate ways. Today was one of my most distressing days, where I got to wee my faults and failings as a person so vividly displayed. Rather than take responsibility for the consequences of my actions, I ran away from them and suffered feelings of shame and quilt. I am not happy with the person I am and no longer consider myself a "good person". Posted via Blogaway

It was a very stressful morning, at one point I thought I was going to be sick. But in the end it came together well. Not sure where some things have gone, but all my furniture got in through the door. Got more things arriving tomorrow. Posted via Blogaway

Today I acquired a dining table, rug and side table. But cancelled the sofa until I have another chance to look at the King furniture.

Why is everything so difficult. Discovered that the oven doesn't work either and no improvement in the air conditioner. Posted via Blogaway

Spent the after looking at furniture for my apartment and I'm more confused now. There are just so much to do before I move in there to live, I'm feeling a bit over-whelmed by it all, no wonder it's classed as one of the most stressful times in a person's life. I have ordered my new fridge and microwave, but only to find I could have earned loyalty points on the transaction if I'd gone through the right website. I won't make that mistake with the washing machine and tumble dryer.

Had a little shopping trip this morning and bagged a bargain. Flight back was a little bumpy but ok, thought I was going to spill my tea at one point. The drive back didn't feel as long ad the drive there. Picked up the keys to my new place and after dinner drove up there to have a look around. There has been a miss up with the keys to the mail boxes and an issue with the intercom, following the changing of the apartment numbers. Discovered I don't have all my keys, but the main ones all work.

Started the day with a walk up Oxford Street to Paddington and Centennial Park. I noticed an item on Facebook and applied for tickets to see Gruen Planet this evening. Walked back and noticed two things, things aren't going well for businesses along Oxford St, long established ones have closed up and many had for lease signs. Secondly there were a lot of "Well Dressed" people around, making their way to Melbourne Cup events. Caught up with Alex in the afternoon and enjoyed the time together. After dinner, I went over to the ABC Studios to watch the taping of an episode of the Gruen Planet. Very enjoyable once we got inside, there was a long wait outside.

This as probably been one of the most enjoyable trips I have made to Sydney. I made a couple of new friends even if they were fleeting and saw two very entertaining shows. I'm sorry that it has to come to an end and I have to return to Melbourne. Maybe it would be nice to be financially secure and enjoy life, without worrying about where the money was coming from.

Met up with a mate and spent the day being a tourist. Went from Darling Harbour by ferry to Circular Quay, and then wandered up into the Rocks. After lunch and we walked through the botanical gardens back into the city. In the evening, I had dinner the hotel room and discovered I had burnt the back of my neck :'( Posted via Blogaway
