Working Trip

I spent the majority of today on the road, driving in between Wedderburn and Brunswick. It was a productive meeting with members of the emergency team in the council but a long way to go for a two meeting.

Good customer service

After a couple of emails, Bunches have agreed to send some more flowers and investigate why the original one had been sent out without the butterflies and chocolates.

My mum's 90

I called up my parents and wished my mother a happy 90 birthday. My sisters are taking both out to lunch on Tuesday.

Flower power

I sent a message of complaint to Bunches.co.uk about the flowers delivered to my mother. What was delivered was not as described!

Damned bowel

Again stuck in the apartment, no gym and no shopping. I did manage to fit in brunch before losing the fight with my gut.

Pain in the...

My neck is causing me grief, I must find a good masseur who can do something about it.

Lunch in Hastings

Took my cousin Avan to lunch with our aunt.,  down in Hastings. The drive there and back went smoothly, although I got a little too close for comfort on a couple of occasions. Our aunt was in good form but was beaten by the size of the meal she ordered.

Friday night out

Unusually for me I was out Friday night. Nothing wild, just dinner with my mate Campbell. There were a lot out that we're probable dressed to impress rather than comfort last night.

Work of a manager

Still haven't got the hang of being a manager. Sometimes I think I have a handle on it but then something comes up I didn't foresee.

Still something about Michael

I've been back two weeks and have been in touch with Michael everyday except for the last couple of days. I miss the chat so must be something there. I'm not going to rush back over (unless I win the lottery).

Made it to the gym

Finally made a trip to the gym and although short, I got the heart working and sweaty afterwards.  Did some mental training in the morning. Looking at effective conversations and how to improve them.  Yesterday, l tried to study but each time I picked the book up I would fall asleep!!

Holiday memories

Hard to believe that my holiday finished only a week ago.  I don't seem to have much to remind me of the 3 weeks I spent over in the UK. I'm still chatting to Michael and that's lasted longer than some here. Dad's still having problems with the tablet, I feel bad that in trying to improve it,  I made it worse. Unfortunately there's no one in the family that seems able to fix it, maybe Carphone Warehouse will be able to help.

Forced change of plans

Instead of washing the car, gym and possible coffee, I was stuck at home with the usual problem. Had a go at reading more economics but I don't think much went in.

Evenings full

Still haven't been able to fit in a trip to the gym, with dinner, massage and body corporate meetings.

Eurovision 2014 - Copenhagen

Really enjoyed this year's competition and having endured the BBC's coverage, I prefer the good natured coverage of the SBS.

Tied and emotional

I must be tied, I keep tearing up while watching Eurovision!!

Final evening in London

I went over to the Queen Elizabeth II park in Stratford, it might be open but there's still room for improvements. I also spent time in the Westfield shopping centre next door to it. When over to Graham's in the evening and watch the first semi final of this year's Eurovision. I do prefer the SBS's coverage of the event.

There's someting about Michael

Can't stop thinking about Michael and he sounds the same, we keep telling each other how much we enjoy the others company, but it doesn't look like there will be another opportunity to catch up before I leave, that's a big shame.

Another from Australia

Finally caught up with my friend Neil, who has come over via Russia to London. We had a couple of drinks and had dinner at a new restaurant in Soho, that uses polenta for all its dishes. Thankfully for me this is gluten free!

Home cooked lunch

Both I and another mate enjoyed a lunch cooked by one of my mates. Chicken stew and sweet potatoes, followed by rhubarb trifle.

Be a visitor

Spent the day as a tourist, wandering around Hyde Park and caught up with Michael in the afternoon. Went looking for a restaurant for dinner but decided not to bother in the end. I've arranged to catch up with Dave on Wednesday and Neil on Tuesday.

Cookham

Went with my friend Graham to catch up with another friend who currently lives in Cookham, but is in the process of moving to High Wycombe. Had a nice day, good lunch and a bit of a hike too.

Brighton rock

Organised to change rooms, so packs and left my bags at the hotel. Arrived sooner than expected at London Bridge train station, but soon Graham arrived and after another wait were on our way to Brighton. The journey to just over an hour, even with a change of trains at East Croydon. The weather picked up while we were in Brighton, but they was a cold wind. This didn't stop us going to the Pier and having fish and chips at the restaurant on there. Drinking nearly half a bottle of wine for lunch wore me out, all I could manage on the way back is a short trip to the lanes for antiques. I came back to the hotel to take my bags to the new room, which is at the back of the basement. It is certainly quiet but also has no mobile reception for 3! Could hang around as I was meeting Shaun and Graham for dinner. We were joined by their friend Dan and we are at a Turkish restaurant, who took my food intolerance very serious.

Style!

My first night in London in the Stylotel. Basic but functional room, bathroom capsule could do with a few more inches. After an irritating wait for the taxi, the trip down to London went smoothly. Going to another room tonight, this one is too noisy being on street level.

Constitution Hill

Graham and I took the cable car up to the top of Constitution Hill after checking out of the hotel. We walked back down and walked to the tend of the Promenade, before heading over to the railway station. The train back to Birmingham was far less packed than the one coming and I'm now on the train back to Nottingham.
