Success in USA

Today's radio show was about the Supreme Court decision in marriage equality and was a bit all over the shop.

Last physio

Had my last physio session before I leave for the UK. Hopefully it will last until I come back!

Therapy

Had a very interesting session with a therapist who specialises in pelvic muscle and how I need to change my habits.

Minions three

The prequel to the Despicable movies and very funny even for big kids.

Dinner Away

I had dinner with Tom, Brian and Cam at Tom's place, together with a very affectionate if boisterous dog. Great meal and fun evening.

Networking with both hands

Was chatting to two friends this evening using two different apps on two different phones!

Successful day of very little

Amazing how little I regularly achieve on Sunday's. Today I meant to clean the car and go shopping, but did neither. I did fit in a trip to the gym at least.

Medal

Gave the replica medal of the Congressional Medal presented to his unit for their services in the Second World War. He couldn't understand how I'd managed to get hold of it from America. The concept of the Internet is foreign to him and my aunt.

Hell morning

On Thursday, it took me over two hours to get to work from leaving my door. First the Upfield line was stuffed, that meant the no. 19 trams were full by the time they reached Victoria Street. So caught a bus to Moonee Ponds, only for the whole train network to be closed down. Reverted to tram and then had problems getting on a no. 59 tram. It wasn't a good morning to be travelling.

Spinning around

The revolving restaurant at the top of the BT Tower is going to open again for a limited time while I am over there. Graham is going to try for tickets, which will be conducted by ballot.

Side trip

Looking at the options for a short side trip while over in the UK. Might be in the second week with parents, after attending the weekend.

Strictly fun

Went to see the musical version of Strictly Ballroom at Her Majesty's Theatre and had a great time. Front row seats so couldn't really be any closer to the action apart from being on stage which many of the audience did at the end of the show. Went along with Brian, Cam and Tom, and Brian caught up with one of his vocal pupils who was in the chorus.

All change

Going to be finishing up with my current group in the department on 10 July and when I return from my long service leave, I will start working with my new team. Pretty excited by the prospect.

Soul Searching

Spent the day at work completing my self assessment part of my performance plan and realising that I really had to move out of the group for my own sanity. Perfect example was the way some colleagues would laud praise on someone because they like them and ignore their obvious faults.

Another day off

This one wasn't planned, but felt very under the weather this morning, so decided to stay home and recover, which seems to have worked.

Got smarter yesterday

Image
Picked up my Pebble smart watch yesterday and after a trying time getting it to link to my iPhone, its all working now.

Plans interrupted

Been hit by my usual issue, thankfully I was back in the hotel, but its unlikely that I will venture far this evening. Hope there's something good on TV.

Tiger away

Busy morning vacuuming the apartment before driving to the airport, hope I can find my car again on Monday. Tiger has got self checking and baggage, but I'd already checked in and just had to have my hand luggage weighed, wish the other airlines would do this. Seats were very cramped but I don't think that their seats recline. Left on time and arrived slightly early. A bit of a walk to the train station, but no waiting for a train. All checked in and have a nice sized room.

Start of a long weekend

Travel to Sydney tomorrow and enjoy the sights of Vivid.

Delivered

After anxious wait the medal has turned up and its presentation case are now ready to be presented to my uncle the next time I go down to see them.

Old School Couriers

Having problems with another delivery company. The big ones don't seem to be set up for delivery to home addresses. They expect someone to be home, how 1960's mentality that someone is home all day.

Jumping to another's tune

I have work colleagues that think nothing of demanding things of others yet complain about the bullying nature of others, but can't see that behaviour in themselves.
