Loss of an athlete

Marc Iliffe Britain's Strongest Man Marc unfortunately took his own life, but his web site is still available. It's so sad that someone with so much ahead of them and with a young family, would feel so alone and desparate to take their own life. Those left behind are the ones that truely suffer. technorati tags: Strongman , UK

Trips coming up

Plans are already well advanced for a couple of trips, one later this year and another early next year. The first one will be later in October and will be a road trip to Regional Victoria - up the Murray River to Mildura - over a long weekend, my best mate and I will drive to the edge of Victoria and then follow the river back into the state. The other trip is planned for March next year, when I will be flying over to the UK to see family and friends again. I am looking forward to this trip for various reasons, firstly because I will get a chance to see my family and friends again, but also because I will be travelling business class for at least half the journay and will hopefully arrive in good shape at both ends of the trip. Early days yet, but I am also thinking about going to America some time in 2007 and visit a number of cities, such as Vancouver, Seattle, Chicago and San Francisco.

What a world we live in ??

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of terrible things happening at the moment? The voilence in the Middle East and now the terror threat to flights from the UK - will this stuff ever stop? I don't know who is to blame - in fact both sides of any war have no moral ground to stand on when it is stained with blood. The sad fact is that I know this will touch Australia some day in some way - I don't know where or when, but one day there will be something terrible here and that will be a very sad day. Maybe we should worry about global warming - the planet would be better off without us. Not a very cheerful entry, but I am in that kind of mood.
