New Year 2008
Saturday 29/12
Spent the morning filling time, waiting for Craig to get up. I did realise that I had forgotten to pack a few things this morning and was able to add them. I was worried when I was hit by a bout of gastro but thankfully by the time we set off, that had settled down.
I didn't have to queue too long at check-in and decided to take advantage of the lounge pass I had added to my velocity card. It was worth the expense - with a help yourself food bar and foxtel to watch. I easily filled in the 30 minutes before my plane was due to board.
Got an emergency exit seat, so had plenty of space and the flight had the headrest displays, but with only an hour to fill, I decided not to waste $5 on it.
Took the train and tram (they grow them big up here) - didn't know where to look to avoid catching the eyes of the handsome hunks wandering the streets (I'm sure they get used to it here!)
Took a while to find the entrance of the hotel, but after a bit of a struggle with the door, I got into a very reasonable room. Not much of a view, but at least there is one, any lower down and we'd only see the back of another building.
Went food shopping after having a shower. Found a thai IGA and got some milk and breakfast cereals.
Been playing with my toys since I got back from the shopping trip, there is a wireless network here, but its not free.
Tried using the phone but with no luck there.
Not sure what to do this evening, might have an early one if I need to be up at a reasonable hour tomorrow, although I'm sure there will be plenty to see and do in Darling Harbour if I could be bothered to go and have another look. So went for a walk and took some photos
