There is always a problem when a favourite place changes hands. This is particularly true of restaurants and one of my favourite ones has changed and not entire for the better. I had one of my best birthday dinners there, but that was several years ago and a different owner ago.

The food wasn't appalling, but not very appealing either. One good point was the coffees which were apparently very good, not be being a coffee expert I couldn't really tell.

The service was attentive if inexperienced. Still he managed to get both the order and bill correct.

The interior hadn't changed significantly but the atmosphere had gone.
