New gadget - HTC Flyer

Got my new tablet, another 7inch android powered device, this time from HTC. Great improvement over the Viewsonic Pad, which I will try to unload on eBay. Greater memory, bigger and faster processor, with a high quality screen and running Honeycomb (via an over the air upgrade).

Written in the sky

I guess it was more a question of when not if Air Australia was going to fail. I am just relieved that it happened after I had used them and although the service was less than perfect, I would have travelled with them again if they had survived. There has to be room in the Australian air travel market for another competitor, the basic service offered by budget carriers around the world works in those markets. Keep things simple - one type of plane, one class of travel and fly to smaller airports (Avalon?).

A Day Procedure

Spent the morning at the Royal Melbourne Hospital have a routine internal investigation, that was the easy part, the day before I spent most the evening cleansing my system (to put it politely!). Just spent the rest of the day quietly in the apartment getting over the effects of the sedative. Posted via Blogaway

Storm damage

The thunderstorm passing over Melbourne this afternoon knocked out the power to my neighbourhood. Wasn't looking forward to sitting in the dark. Thankfully the power came back on after about an hour. Posted via Blogaway

Loss of a star

Upset by the passing of Miss Whitney Houston. Such an amazing talent gone too soon. With so much respect and love on display by her colleagues at the Grammy Awards, she will be sadly missed. Moving tribute by Jennifer Hudson.

Easter plans - Brisbane

Didn't take much internal debate to decide to return to Brisbane for Easter this year. Flights and accommodation booked. Returning to the Lexicon apartments, so looking forward to having an apartment to myself. The guys up there have been informed. Looking forward meeting old and new friends on this trip.

Brisbane for Easter

After conversation with mates I contacted on my Australia Day trip, I'm considering going back up to Brisbane for the Easter break. Might extend it by a day and use up the Virgin credit that came from my cancelled Perth trip.
