One day at a time

Harry and Ali were on Fresh Air today and they used a fresh air ident, I wish someone had mentioned that to us. They were good and I got a name check for texting in to the show.

Couldn't concentrate on any one thing for very long today. Touched on a lot of tings but got easily distracted.

The train I usually catch in the morning was turned into an express before my stop and I like how easy it was was find a seat. 

Just feeling a little off colour and have retired to bed early. So I should go to sleep.

After brunch I drove over to Ikea in Richmond. Was just going for a few kitchen items, which I got plus a few more items. Strangely the car park barrier didn't appear to be working so I got in and out without a ticket. 

I've been getting feedback on my writing skills and it isn't glowing. I find it difficult to write for decision makers becasue I want to tell the story. I apparently assume too much pre-existing knowledge. I hope these skills will come with practice. 

The concert and Miss Marcia Hines were amazing. I'm so glad that I have seen her life and I even got to ask her a question.  Didn't seem that most of the audience has heard her new stuff, where I hadn't heard her old stuff, but whatever she sang it was pure delight to listen to. 

For just an hour it was a lot of preparation. Lucky that the CD worked and the tracks played through. Stuffed up at the beginning and end but that's what I kind if expected and that will come with practice.  Jarrad wants to do a session with Anne Louise and Roybn, which I'd like to join in.  The girls have grabbed most of the slots up to October.  I hope we didn't do anything wrong and would do it again. 

Going to the Palms at Crown this evening to see Marcia Hines and the seating arrangements have been changed. We've gone from sitting in the second row to three tables back the stage. Now I think about it, I should have complained when I got the tickets about the new seats but didn't think to :(

There are times when I really don't know what I am doing or why I'm there. We are working on the team and it's clear that my manager has one view that certain functions should be together and I don't see the reason, although my thoughts have been colored by the people in those roles. 

Was a fairly normal Sunday, with brunch followed by shopping and calling my parents. Differences today were giving a lift home to a friend and including a visit to the gym. On top of these, I went to Southland shopping centre and bought a new toaster.

Got struck again with another loose stool and had to stay in, really buggers up my few plans for today. At least today wasn't as bad as previous weekends but still got through a few pairs of underwear. Listened to Phil and Phil on Joy and was fine, I think they messed up the community and sponsorship messages, but they kept going. I worked on a possible format for the show next week, concentrating more on music than chatter.

Been going through my music collection to find a small selection for the radio show next week and its not easy picking so few songs to represent my favourites. I'm trying to pick ones that have a meaning to me but would be interesting for the listener as well.

The radio course finished last night and I was a bit sad about that, I have enjoyed our group and I don't know how many of them I will see again. SK suggested I sit in on one particular show and I'd like to do that. Also my fresh air slot is coming up next week with Jared and possibly James as well.

Very sad to hear the news about the passing away of Robin Williams and that he apparently took his own life. Very sad loss for his family, friends and the world in general. There will be less laughter in the world without him. 

Final radio course tomorrow. We have to produce a mock show and I've been practicing my solo part. Hopefully I won't feel so phased when I sit at the panel tomorrow as I did on Monday. 

Got to the pointy end of the radio course and next week will be taking part in a show, although its not going to air it will be live. Going to do my part on how I got here, the history of the Dexters.

Woke up feeling very peculiar, dizzy and can't shake it. Worked from home for a while and then came in for a couple of meetings in the afternoon and of course the radio course this evening.

Back to work this morning, after having yesterday off work. Must have been quiet with me and another colleague off at the same time.  

The day stated as usual with brunch with the guys, followed by some shopping but first I was surprised to see the Fonepad had come down in price and then I met up with an online mate in person. Didn't go to the gym, didn't feel like it, but not beating myself up about it.  James has been circulating some distressing pictures from Gaza and I've blocked his updates on Facebook. I understand why he is doing it, I don't agree with his approach so I have taken steps to stop him sending more to me. 

Seems I'm in a unfortunate cycle with my bowels, yet again I was hit by another unpleasant morning. Thankfully my planned trip to Hastings had already been cancelled, due to an electrical fault at my aunt's house. I have booked tickets to see Marcia Hines with Neil later in August and will be popping out to the shops shortly.

The weather was appalling today, bitter wind and driving rain. Work wise it wasn't a particularly demanding day. Might be going alone to Hastings tomorrow as Campbell has been sick for the last two days.
