Week 53 - Feels Normal

Big changes this week.

My employer has released new flexible guidelines, which require people generally to commit to spend at least 3 days a week in the office (this is a new definition of "flexible" working). I had already thought that I would return to the office 3 days a week, but what has changed is the language to effectively mandate that people come into the office (when clearly most people don't need to be physically in the office to get their work done). Although I found an interesting article of the BBC website, which it is turning out to be a mixed bag on what employers consider to be flexibility. It might take a while to settle down, but lets hope that the five day week in the office for office workers does not become the norm again.

I did make into the office twice this week, no issues on either day.

The other big thing for me was the dropping of the requirement to wear a mask in a retail environment. It is still a novelty to go shopping without having to wear a mask. They are still required to be worn on public transport, hospitals and aged care.

I've not been very motivated at work this week, its taken me almost all week to nearly finish one report and it shouldn't take that long, Although I have managed to get a few entities to correct their data feeds at the same time.

My father should have had his second vaccination by now, although I haven't spoken to him yet to confirm that. Whilst my aunt went to hospital for a lump to be removed and was sent home without it being done. She will probably go private instead and get it done when it is convenient to her.

I have finally received her tax submission, I need to print it out and take it down next weekend so she can sign it and then get it back to the accountants. But I am still waiting to hear from her lawyers on how they are going in getting an updated document. Neither of these professional firms have impressed me with their responsiveness.
