Week 60 & 61

There has been a complete change of pace at work, from completely hectic to completely dead. With the completion of the budget, there is now a pause before the next product until July. I have started preparing for the next products, but there is a limit that I can prepare before closer to the date of the products.

I am now going to be taking four trips outside Victoria, with trips to Sydney, Hobart, Adelaide and Christchurch now all booked. Apart from New Zealand, there is no other countries that we can travel to at the moment and international borders are likely to remain closed until 2022.

I am eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination here due to my age, but since I recently had a flu vaccination then I have to wait at least 14 days before getting the COVID one. I will probably get it, but there isn't much urgency here to do it since there is very little local transmission at the moment (unless one of the new variants gets into the country).

I have been waking up early to watch the Eurovision Song Contest live, two semi-finals down and just the Grand Final to go which here will begin at 5am Sunday morning. I'm disappointed that Australia did not progress to the final, I like our entry but I don't feel that using the live to tape was a level playing field, compared to what can be done on the Eurovision stage. Long story short, I wasn't surprised when we did not qualify for the grand final.

I hope that either Malta or Bulgaria win the contest, as neither has won the competition before. But would be happy with a number of countries taking the grand prise, it does appear to be an open competition this year.

I'm enjoying some late autumn sunshine on my balcony, I expect that it will get cold once the sunsets as there is virtually no cloud cover at the moment.
