Easter Sunday

Late start to the day, had brunch down on South Bank. Took the train as it was pouring down when we left the hotel. Wandered down to the museum and went around the NASA exhibition which was interesting. Still trying to decide what to do this evening.

Easter Saturday

After shopping, we had dinner along the river and all the places that were open were very busy. Food was good but didn't stay very long at the bar/restaurant.

Easter weekend away

Spending the Easter weekend away in warm yet wet Brisbane. The trip up here seemed to take forever, even though we were only delayed by an hour. The first day in Brisbane and spent it entirely around the central shopping centre although we had dinner down by the river.

Went on a drive with Sox and Doug to Noosa, including lunch and a walk along the beach, drove back in between hail storms and rainbows.

Day of highs and lows

The day started off well enough, even a shower or two didn't really matter much. But hit by diarrhea in the afternoon almost convinced me to not attend the dinner, but glad I did as it was fun, even if I didn't get to see the river fire (although I could certainly hear it)

Friday rush

So glad I left early from work, the journey to the airport was very slow. All fine at the airport and flight was smooth. Was worried I'd miss the train but caught with 5 minutes to spare.

Holiday for Melbourne Cup

Campbell & I are going back to Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland over the Melbourne Cup weekend in early November. We're staying at the Rydges resort there and flying in and out of Brisbane.

Brisbane for Easter 2012

Final full day in Brisbane. Just taking it easy and will wander around the city centre with all the other tourists. It's been very nice here, sunny butnot too hot and although humid, even that hs been bearable. Will go to the expensive coffee shop for gluten free cake and then go shopping.

Easter plans - Brisbane

Didn't take much internal debate to decide to return to Brisbane for Easter this year. Flights and accommodation booked. Returning to the Lexicon apartments, so looking forward to having an apartment to myself. The guys up there have been informed. Looking forward meeting old and new friends on this trip.

Brisbane for Easter

After conversation with mates I contacted on my Australia Day trip, I'm considering going back up to Brisbane for the Easter break. Might extend it by a day and use up the Virgin credit that came from my cancelled Perth trip.

Australia Day Break - 2012

Final day in Brisbane and it was interesting. Not so much in what happened, although having the checkin balls up by Air Australia wasn't amusing. Started chatting to a guy online and it developed into quite a conversation. It was a shame that I didn't chat to him earlier, but I have fallen before to quickly, that's how I ended up with a credit with Virgin. At least this might given a reason to use the credit on a return trip to Brisbane. Posted via Blogaway

Australia Day Break - 2012

Today I spent alone, although for part of it I was surrounded by lots of people. Had a lazy morning and left the hotel about 11. Went into the shopping centre of Brisbane and proceeded to shop. Bought a couple of tight t-shirts and other clothing. Replaced my adidas baseball cap with a slaznger one. The evening was very quiet. Watched movie and then went in search of food. Walked around the block but failed to find anything suitable. Chatted to a couple of guys over the day but neither was available this.

Australia Day Break - 2012

Second day in Brisbane and it's raining. I spent most of the day with my friend Sox, returning to the hotel in time for a drink with Colin, who'd I'd chatted to online. Had dinner with Doug & Sox again at the Mecca Bar down at the Emporium, very nice food and lots of it. Very satisfied after the meal. Posted via Blogaway

Australia Day Break - 2012

Flew up to Brisbane for a long weekend break in not so sunny Brisbane. Took Air Australia flight from Melbourne, comfortable but not remarkably different from other domestic airlines. Brisbane is warm and humid, but not uncomfortable. Staying at what was the Portal Hotel & I ' m sure that my previous room had a microwave, but this one does not. It is fine for a single person but two might find it cramped. Had dinner with my friends Sox and Doug at a local pub, and it was an enjoyable evening. Caught up with Sox & Doug, drank some wine and had a nice dinner out in Brisbane at the Sportmans Hotel, not far from the hotel. Posted via Blogaway

Highlights 14th June

Had a trip on a river cat service and wondered around Southbank precinct. No meetings in the evening.

Highlight Monday 13th June

Went to a barbecue at my friends Sox and Doug place. Took the train to the end of the Ferny Grove line and Sox picked me up and took me to their place. We were joined by a few of their other friends and had a nice time. Got a lift back to the city, but didn't do much in the evening as I had had a little too much to drink. I had an early night.

Highlight Sunday 12th June

Wandered around the shops in central brisbane and bought a few things including a new travel umbrella. Had a late lunch with Michael before returning to the hotel for a quiet night in front of the tv.
