Easter Weekend 2022

It was nice to have a four day weekend.  Still had things to do, including visiting elderly relatives (one visit require the wearing of PPE, due to a COVID case in her wing of the care home), as well as writing notices for the Owners Corporation to go up warning people in my apartment block about security concerns (the notices were taken down each time after a couple of days).  There was the usual shopping trip and I did buy a new travel shaver, whilst my friend purchased 4 pillows (I'm not sure why he needed to buy four in one go). The final day of the long weekend has been more laid back, although I have had a bout of gastro problems once again, which took out the early part of the afternoon. Surprisingly there has been someone working on the new apartments all weekend, although I didn't see the crane move, so they must have been working on something inside the apartment building.

Back to normal

The trains were delayed this morning so no change there and I have to use Outlook at work but still also use Lotus Notes too. Picked up Oscar from Campbell and he is very confused although he's cuddle up to me on the bed.

Work as usual

My proposal didn't go as far as I would have liked, although within my colleagues there is agreement that responsibilities need to be better defined.

No work road trip

Was planning on visiting Ballarat today for work but this has been put off until October.

Another unpleasant weeks at work

This job used to be fun,  it with just me and Kira, it's become a nightmare. Finally had some time to chase up a couple of outstanding queries and got them sorted.

What a day!

Took the car in to be checked for a oil leak. Took me over 2 hours to drop the car off, get to the nearest train station and into the city. Thankfully the trip back was a bit smoother even though the train was crowded at 4 pm. Then at work more requests came in to follow up issues. On top of that there was no leak just some oil from the service!

Workng from home

Getting a doctor's appointment tomorrow so working from home in the morning.

Normal service

Didn't take too long to get back into work, it's almost what holiday!

Work colleague has passed away

One of my work colleagues has passed away suddenly after suffering a massive stroke. Its a shock and hasn't really sunk in yet, but it has meant that I have reconnected with another work colleague.

Change maybe in my future

One of my colleagues is moving on and I expressed an interest in her position, to have a change in my role. I had a chat with the areas manager and a move is possible, depending on the out come of some negotiations involving another staff member on secondment. The prospect of change is exciting and scary at the same time, plus I don't know how that would effect my current team. Will have to wait and see what happens, but in the meantime I have updated my CV, just in case it's needed.
