Harry Potter 7 Part 1

Just returned from watching the first half of the last Harry Potter movie. The book took a long time to get moving and the film was the same. The second half should have more action. Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.5

Wet Daylesford

Took my UK friend to see Daylesford today. Unfortunately the weather was appalling with heavy rain. At least he got to see the countryside outside Melbourne.

Werribee

Had a great day down at Werribee Park. Had lunch at Josephs in the Mansion and then walked around the old mansion house. This was followed by a few hours at the open range zoo, the highlight was the bus safari.

Returned from Sydney

The plan for leaving Sydney came together a little too smoothly and I arrived at the airport half a hour before I needed to. Graham arrived a little later than planned, but this was just in time for our check in on Tiger. With just over an hour to fill before boarding, we walked around the airport looking for some scales to weigh Graham's bag, but gave up and had a coffee instead. The flight was a little bumpy, but otherwise unremarkable. On returning to the apartment, I spent most the afternoon trying to work out why the Dell would not connect the wireless. Graham came over in the early evening and we walked over to Domain Rd for drinks and a snack.

Dinner above Sydney

Graham and I went up to one of the restaurants in Sydney Tower. Had a pleasant evening watching as the scenery around us changed as the restaurant rotated and as night fell upon Sydney.

Sydney 2010

Saturday 6th November 2010 Spent to morning looking at the options for my Easter trip to the UK. Decided to not make any arrangements until I had heard from Aaron and know when his apartment is available. After an aborted attempt to catch one tram, I finally arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare and after checking in my bag, I settled down close to the departure gate with a coffee and my ipod touch, They commenced boarding early on the flight, but didnā€™t help them get away on time. I found the front row comfortable. There was slightly more leg room and no worry of the person in front reclining their chair. The flight went smoothly and my luggage soon appeared at Sydney. I called Graham from the airport and arranged to have dinner with him. I took the train to the hotel, which unfortunately was very busy, so I had to settle for a twin room for my first night and would have to check back in for the rest of my stay. Meet Graham at the hotel and we walked over to ...

Wednesday 3 November 2010

Left Brisbane after catching the Airtrain to the airport. Not really looking forward to going to work tomorrow. At least my next trip us only two dats away.

Tuesday 2 November 2010

Melbourne Cup day and even in Brisbane there was no way to escape the race that literately stops a nation. I spent mist of the day wandering around shops looking for hats and rain coats. In the end I was only partially successful and have a cap for Thursday's Oaks Day BBQ. The evening was quiet, didn't even find that many online to chat to. On the other hand, I have virtually finished packing and posted some pictures on Flickr.

Monday 1 November 2010

Spent most of the day with my friend Socrates in and around Brisbane. Early on we went to the Botanical Gardens and after roaming around them, we came back into the city to have lunch at Southbank. From there we took the citycat ferry up the river and wandered along Oxford Street, Brisbane style. I later met up with a new friend and chatted over a couple of soy lattes. A pleasant day in Brisbane even if the weather wasn't perfect.
