Week 39 - Final Working Week

Although it was a short week, it of course got very busy on the last day. I had been waiting for something to be approved by another part of the department so I could then get a message approved to send out to the businesses. Which naturally occurred just hours before I was due to go on leave, thankfully I was prepared, even though it was a bit of rush (hopefully there were no typos in the message). Work has finished for me until the new year and it looks like we will finally be able to return to the office sometime in January or February.

Still waiting to hear the outcome of my interview for the position (promotion) in my team and the longer it takes the more confident I become that I didn't get the position. On the upside, at least on this occasion I was  able to get an interview (the two previous attempts, that did not happen), so maybe I have got better at applying for positions.

Had my second Christmas meal, with friends at their home. It was a very nice spread, with cold meats and salads, followed by the best pavlova I have had it a very long time.

Christmas week is going to be busy, I have a lot of FODMAP dinners scheduled to arrive on Monday, then on Wednesday I have to pick up my aunt and bring her back to my place, where my cousin will then take her up to her own place to stay with her. Of course, there is Christmas Day when I am going to have dinner with some friends of my best friend and then on Boxing Day I will be joining the family at a BBQ.

I'm not sure of the plan to get my aunt back home, but hopefully there will happen over the weekend so that I can have the following week to relax!

NSW has got a cluster and the internal borders are closing again, but this time for people from that state and the UK is tightening restrictions over Christmas (it wasn't a very sensible idea to relax them in the first place).

My family in the UK haven't received my Christmas cards even though I posted them in November, but there is little I can do about speeding them up, that is in the laps of AusPost and the Royal Mail (plus whoever is involved in between to get mail from Australia to the UK).
